Structural Engineer.
About the role:
•Design of carbody (Rolling Stock) components
based on customer requirements.
•Generation of compliance, risk and
opportunity report based on customer requirements.
•Creation of concept, preliminary
and detail design of carbody components
•Managing stake holder requirement
related to carbody
•Definition of weld joints as per
international welding standard EN 15085
•Definition of GD & T to parts,
assemblies and at carbody level
•Develop carbody design tree and
harmonize with assembly sequence in PLM tool
•Provide Engineering Support to
Production, Quality, Procurement and other functions
•Assessment of material requirement
and selection of right Material to carbody components as per international
standards (awareness of European Standards preferable).
•Participate in Cross Functional
Team (CFT) meetings to support other functions
•Participate in Change Management
process to carry out engineering changes
•Provide carbody inputs during
tender submission such as product description, material detail, Engineering
Bill of Material.
•Ensure Lessons Learned and best
practices are applied on projects.
Key
responsibilities:
1.Design (Concept, Preliminary and
Detail) of carbody components like Roof, Underframe, Sidewall, Cab and Endwall
etc.,
Carbody Product Technical
documentation for project.
2.Accountable for deliverables at
each design and project review gates.
•Engineering deliverables are of
highest quality meeting “customer” requirements (Quality of product – right
first time)
•On time and on budget delivery of
engineering projects to forecast (Schedule and budget performance)
3. Visit work sites, customers and
suppliers within and outside India.
•Accountable to manage work packages
outsourced to Engineering suppliers.
4.Comply to Safe working
environment.
•Comply to Product Safety
Requirements
•Shall wear Personal Protective
Equipment as provided when required
•Shall comply with Divisional
procedures and Statutory requirements.
Education
Qualifications & Functional Knowledge:
•Graduate in
Engineering (Mechanical) with 8-10 years’ work experience in Rail, automotive
and Heavy Industries.
Relevant
experience required (i.e. directly linked to the requirements of the
position/role)
•5 – 6 Years as a
metro/EMU structure design
Specialized or
cross-functional knowledge / relevant experience required by the position/role
Good
Communication and Presentation skill required and should be in a position to
handle end to end responsibilities of the project deliveries.
